As a colleague, you can view the organisation chart and get to know Brother UK better. Org charts give a better understanding of the hierarchical relationships and link into other activities, such as appraisals.


Where can I access this feature?

From the sidebar menu, click Org Chart.



Org chart filters


You can sort the chart to view BUK by organisational units, and show or hide elements for better visibility.

  1. Click    in the top-left of the navigation bar to open the Filter Options pane. 


Apply filter options

Option
Description
View By
Options to filter the chart by unit type Division, Sub-Division, Department and Team.
  1. Click a unit type to show the specific units under it.
  2. Tick the unit that you wish to view.
Filter By
Allows you to apply the data fields, either as color coded-values or show/hide properties.

Personal Data let's you show or hide First Name, Last Name and Photo.
  1. Click    to show the personal data fields, or
  2. Click   to hide the fields.

Job let's you filter and show Department, Team and Job Title.
  
Click    in the right-hand of Filter Options to close the filter pane.


Clear active filters

To clear active filters that you have applied:

  1. If the Filter Options pane is closed, click in the active filter tag shown in the top navigation bar.
  2. Alternatively, in the Filter Options pane, de-select the filters.



Search org chart


You can search for a specific employee by entering an employee name in the search bar. As you type your query, search results are presented as a dropdown list while the org chart centers with the selected query. If there are 2 or more results, use    and    to view previous or next employee.



Org chart interactions and tools


There are a few tools that you can use as you navigate around the chart.


Zoom in or out of the org chart

Click    to zoom in or    to zoom out of the chart.

To open Settings, click    to the right hand side of the top navigation bar.

Fit the entire org chart within the screen
 View Chart Map
View and navigate using the mini org map. Drag the blue box around the map to view and move the chart as in the map perspective.
 Magnify
Enable magnified view of the chart as you hover over the chart. To disable, click esc-key or deselect Magnify
 Drag
Show drag/move options below
 Snap to Grid
Show the grid in chart view and enables snap-to-grid function when moving cards around
 Move
Activate drag/move functionality. To move or re-organize chart, click and drag an employee card and move to desired position
 Dynamic Link
Allow lines to dynamically connect around the card as you move around
 Auto Align
Show predefined auto-alignment options below
Gives you options to position the cards in a structured layout by rows (x-axis) or columns (y-axis)

  • Layered - normal tree-style where all boxes are lined up horizontally and vertically based on their hierarchy
  • Alternating - alternates Layered and Bus alignment
  • LastParents - similar to Layered but applies Alternating layout
  • RootsOnly
 (Alignment)
  • CenterChildren - Line Manager is center-aligned
  • Start - Line Manager is aligned with 1st direct report
  • Bus - reports are aligned in aisles (as in a bus)



Org chart for employees with internal roles

Depending on the user roles assigned to you, additional filter options may allow you to provide deeper insight into your direct and indirect reports. You can also click the employee cards to view their profile.


  Who can use this feature?

Line managers, L&D Officers, Community Engagement Officers, HR Officers, Directors and Special Directors can access this feature.


Where can I access this feature?

  1. From the sidebar menu, click Team under My Tasks section.
  2. Click   in the top-right of the navigation bar.
  3. You can select any of the roles assigned to you to view the org chart specifically configured to provide you with data visibility relevant to your role.
  4. Feel free to explore and apply the filter options.
  5. Click on an employee card to open and view their profile. You'll be able to see the following, as may be applicable:
    • Job contains historical records of jobs held by the employee while with Brother UK.
    • EVP with password-protected current and historical salary, taken and remaining holidays, other entitlements and weekly work hours.
    • Training displays a summary of employee's L&D activity by calendar year. Line managers can also view a list of the employee's courses and activities.
    • Qualification shows employee's education, membership of professional bodies, work experience, talent mapping and personality profile.
    • Personal holds employee's basic information, contact information and emergency contact.
