Why it's important to sign out from the web app
When signing in to the Toolkit web app, a cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie has a unique ID value that identifies you while you're using the web app, and, possibly, when you come back later. If that identifier was stolen, the person possessing it could, possibly, use your account as if he or she was you. Signing out after a day's work usually invalidates this identifier for you and any untoward access. Unfortunately, though, you will be forced to enter your email and password the next time you sign in.
The Toolkit has built-in security measures to mitigate potential exposure of sensitive data. For example, you are automatically signed out after a certain idle time that is determined and set by your administrator. Your salary details are also password-protected to ensure that only you and authorized personnel can view them. But always bear in mind that you, too, share the responsibility of protecting sensitive data you might have access to.
